For Web Access to MLS LABs Click: LAB or RDP
For SSH Tunnel Access to MLS LABs Click: MLS-LABS-PROXY
There are three ways to connect to the MLS LABs (detailed information in respective sections):
Web Access (Directly via Public Internet)
VPN Access (with ZeroTier SD-VPN Client)
SSH Tunnel Access (via CloudFlareD proxy)
PS: access is controlled as per Purchased/subscribed plan in all modes of access.
Web Access - This allows the lab users to connect directly to the lab via the public internet using a secured (https) connection. There is no need to install or configure anything on the client side. All you need is a modern web browser (like chrome, edge, brave etc.) and moderately fast enough internet connection.
MLS LABs can be accessed at following URLs: https://lab.microlearnservices.com/ or https://rdp.microlearnservices.com/
While this is the easiest way to connect and use MLS LABs services, it will be all contained within your web-browser. If you want to utilize any client software (like Putty, MobaXterm, Win-SCP, RDP-Client etc.) for connecting to the LAB nodes & devices, then use the VPN or SSH Tunnel based access.
VPN Access
Your remote access to the MLS LABs is secured by a Network Access Server (NAS) which acts as an anchor point for all the LAB Node related remote access sessions, be it GUI based on RDP protocol or CLI based on SSH Protocol.
Connections form the learner's computer to the NAS is powered by a software defined networking connection which is based on the ZeroTier protocol.
This allows the users to connect to the MLS LABs even from behind double NATed (CGNATed) networks. Also, the connection setup process is fairly simple and users can do it on their own by following the VPN Connectivity Guide from MLS LABs. Needless to say, support is always available for your scheduled lab sessions bookings. And that too from 1 day before your scheduled LAB booking time.

SSH Tunnel Access
For some reason, if you cannot install the ZeroTier VPN client and still want to access MLS LABs with client terminals like Putty/MobaXterm/MS-RDP etc.; you can still do so with a portable executable of CloudFlareD. CloudFlareD will work as a proxy in this case and will help to create an SSH Tunnel to the MLS LABs. You can use this tunnel with Dynamic Port Forwarding (Local SOCKS proxy) to tunnel your browser traffic to the MLS LABs network.
This process is now automated with MLS-LABS-PROXY configuration script. Just download and run it to skip the manual steps. If you still prefer to configure manually, read on.
Following commands need to be passed to the Putty client to start the tunnel and SOCKS proxy. Configure your Putty terminal session as shown in the pictures.
Zero Footprint Client:
Irrespective of whether you are accessing the MLS LABs via Web Based Access or you are connected via the VPN Based Access, you donot need to install any client application. Everything is accessible through browser-based RDP or CLI Sessions. Though you are not restricted to the browser only sessions if you are connected via VPN Based Access. Feel free to use client terminals (like Putty, Win-SCP, RDP, MobaxTerm etc.) to directly connect with the LAB devices.
